Seychelles Regatta Start

The third edition of the Seychelles Regatta is set to take place between May 21 and 29 2011, when a fleet of catamarans will unfurl their sails for a journey of intense competition and discovery from the main island on course to some of Seychelles’ jewel islands and sites of innate beauty.

A world-beating sailing opportunity, the Seychelles Regatta brings a new meaning to boat racing, offering participants all the thrills and excitement of racing across the sea in the tropics coupled with an exquisite experience that will conjure a lifetime of memories.

Each year, highly experienced sailors of the world, accompanied by leading local skippers, are tested for the sailing prowess against the fierceness of the South Easterly trade wind that visits the islands between the months of May and September and the cunning of Seychelles’ emerald seas.

Since it was first launched in 2009, the Seychelles Regatta has attracted some most successful ocean racers, including Michel Desjoyeaux, Armel le Cleac’h, Samantha Davies, Yann Elies, Romain Attanasio, Servane Escoffier and Jeremie Beyou.

Organisers of the event are inviting all those interested to discover an even bigger and better Seychelles Regatta this year.
